𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬

This year, our school is delighted to celebrate Reading Week from 9th September to 13th September under the enchanting theme, “𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥.”

This special week kick-starts on 9th September to honor the Birth Anniversary of 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐦 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐜𝐤. The theme reflects the transformative power of books to transport readers to new worlds, ignite imagination, and inspire a lifelong love for learning. Reading is not only a fundamental skill that enhances academic success but also a magical gateway to creativity, empathy, and critical thinking.

To celebrate this week and embrace the magic of reading, the activities are in queue.

The opening activities;

1. Reading Challenge: “𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲” – The Reading Week was inaugurated with the launch of a “Reading Five Pages Per Day” challenge, encouraging students to dedicate a few minutes daily to reading. This initiative aims to instill the habit of regular reading and helps students experience the magic of stories and knowledge, one page at a time.

2. Open Library – An “𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲” concept was introduced, where anyone in the school can pick up books and read whenever they have free time. This initiative provides easy access to a variety of books, promoting spontaneous reading and reminding everyone that magic can be found in books at any moment.

𝟑. 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 (𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐑) – To further embrace the theme, the school organized a “Drop Everything and Read” (DEAR) session. At a designated time each day, everyone in the school, including students, teachers, and staff, pauses their activities and dedicates 15 minutes to reading. This activity reinforces the idea that reading is a priority and can be a refreshing break that rejuvenates the mind.

These activities, aligned with the theme “Reading is Magical,” are designed to cultivate a love for reading, encourage a habit of regular reading, and create a vibrant reading culture in our school community. By immersing ourselves in the magic of books, we celebrate not only the joy of reading but also honor the cherished traditions and values of our nation
